Dr Nemec
I am thrilled to offer a whole new experience in dentistry in Austin, Texas! I make it a point to allow our patients to voice their opinions on their mouth and smile, as well as their long-term goals and objectives. My desire is to help you facilitate what you wish to achieve and provide you the information and options to accomplish those wishes!
I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Through the help and encouragement of my father, I participated in football, basketball, baseball and track throughout childhood and into high school. Graduating at the top of my senior class, I received an academic scholarship to attend The University of Texas at Austin. I believe that my mother’s lifelong service as a registered nurse led me to pursue a career in the field of healthcare.
After just three years of undergraduate studies, I was accepted to the nation’s top ranked dental program, The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
It was here I received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree, and, no less important, began a relationship with Amie, whom I married in February 2000.
Since 1998, I have enjoyed serving as an Austin area dentist. While practicing in the Austin Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, I began to visualize a dental office that would provide a comfortable environment for clients, as well as a focus on listening to and achieving their individual needs. In September of 2002, we opened The Hills Dental Spa in West Austin, which has been featured on numerous local television news programs and in many articles published both by local, state and national magazines.
By maintaining membership in the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the Capital Area Dental Society and the Central Texas Implant Studies Program, I am able to keep up to date on all the latest advancements in dentistry. I thrive on learning and gaining knowledge of the latest techniques and technologies. This includes postgraduate studies in cosmetic and implant dentistry, CAD/CAM 3-D dentistry, and special training on TMJ and occlusion through the world-renowned Dawson Center. I am also proud to have received a Distinguished Alumnus Award from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, as well as the Dentsply International Award for Prosthodontics, which includes crowns, bridges, cosmetic dentistry and implants. I have also been honored with being a Preferred Provider through Invisalign, the leading technology company for wireless, invisible orthodontic treatment.
Now, as my career has advanced, I am excited to share my experience with other dentists by lecturing on the use of CEREC CAD/CAM 3-D dentistry. This technology allows me to provide our clients with conservative treatments by creating custom made solid porcelain crowns or onlays that are created using CEREC in our office. What this means for you, the client, is less appointments, fewer shots, a high standard of quality control, and no worrying about the stability of a temporary restoration. Our patients love walking out of their appointment with their final crown or onlay in place. And they enjoy the benefit of knowing I have saved as much of their natural enamel as possibly, thereby leaving their mouth healthier and stronger than before treatment began. By teaching these techniques to other dentists, I feel I am able to expand the use of better dentistry for more patients. I’ve found that I enjoy teaching and am excited to add another layer to my lectures by coaching on customer service strategies as well.
When not in the office or teaching, I am an avid golfer, a cyclist, and love spending time with my wife and our two dogs. Ivan and Iggy love a good car ride, so we spend some weekends traveling to other parts of Texas to enjoy golf and hiking, or to visit family and friends. We particularly enjoy the Texas Hill Country for hiking, wine tasting, art and shopping. As a UT alumnus and an avid Longhorn sports fan I attend as many UT sporting events as can be fit into my schedule.
And, while it's not necessarily a hobby, I attend many dental seminars and trainings each year to stay up to date with the dental technologies and services that can benefit our clients.

Lynne is Dr. Nemec's dental assistant and has worked with him for 13 years. With over 30 years of experience as a dental assistant, she excels at making our patients comfortable. She truly enjoys making our clients feel at ease and assisting Dr. Nemec to provide them with the best dentistry available.

Amie has been with The Hills Dental Spa since it's opening in 2000. While she's here to answer your questions regarding appointments, dental treatments, insurance and spa treatments, she also enjoys connecting people. So, whether you are in need of a dog trainer or a recommendation for a restaurant for dinner tonight, don't hesitate to ask.
